Isaac Nsiah commissions new KG block at Modaso Roman Catholic School

Under the leadership of the District Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira West, Isaac Nsiah, the Upper Denkyira West District continues to make significant strides in improving educational infrastructure.

Together with Nananom, the District Education Directorate, Assembly Members and staff, school authorities, parents, contractors and other stakeholders, the DCE commissioned and handed over a newly constructed KG block at the Modaso Roman Catholic School.

Speaking at the ceremony, Isaac Nsiah reaffirmed his commitment to improving educational infrastructure and completing outstanding projects across the district.

He disclosed plans to provide additional educational infrastructure to further boost the sector and reiterated the government’s determination to eliminate schools operating under trees.

The District Chief Executive also announced an award scheme to recognise schools that demonstrate excellence in maintaining their infrastructure.

He emphasised the need to promote a strong maintenance culture and encourage community ownership of school facilities.

The new KG block, equipped with classrooms, furniture, a restroom, an office and a kitchen, is expected to provide a safe and conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The DCE expressed appreciation to the traditional authorities, community members and other stakeholders for their cooperation and for serving as responsible watchdogs throughout the construction of the project.

The District Education Director, Nana Kusi, also commended the government for the initiative and stressed the need for continuous investment in educational infrastructure.

He called on school authorities and communities to develop a strong maintenance culture to ensure that the facilities serve their intended purpose for many years.

He further highlighted other government interventions benefiting pupils, including the provision of sanitary pads, school furniture and mosquito nets. He noted that approximately 1,080 pupils were benefiting from these interventions.

Speaking on behalf of Father Jude, the Local Manager of the Roman Catholic Church, Rev Father Finn thanked the government for the project and appealed for additional infrastructure to further improve teaching and learning.

He also urged the beneficiary community to regard the facility as its own property and take responsibility for maintaining it in good condition.
