Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has offered prayers for the newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Nhyiaeso, Kwadjo Owusu Bempah, and urged him to provide effective leadership to the constituency.

Kufuor made the call when Bempah, accompanied by a delegation of constituency executives and party members, paid a courtesy call on him at his private residence.

The former President commended Bempah for his leadership and philanthropic activities, saying his service could contribute to strengthening the NPP’s position in the Ashanti Region.

Kufuor urged the constituency chairman to base his leadership on integrity, compassion and wisdom.

He said integrity was necessary to promote transparency and trust within the party, while compassion would enable the chairman to respond to the needs of constituents through direct community engagement.

He also stressed the importance of wisdom in managing local political dynamics and promoting unity within the party.

Kufuor further acknowledged some of Bempah’s initiatives in the Nhyiaeso constituency, including the construction of mechanised boreholes to improve access to potable water, scholarships for needy but brilliant students, and the construction of an ICT library in memory of the late former Constituency Chairman, George Kofi Adjei, popularly known as Geokad.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Bempah expressed gratitude to Kufuor for receiving the delegation and offering guidance.

“I thank God for the rare privilege to meet the sage of our time, receive his prayers, and absorb nuggets of wisdom that money simply cannot buy,” the Chairman said.

He said the meeting had strengthened his commitment to serving the constituency and working to secure victory for the NPP in future general elections.

“This encounter has bolstered our resolve to serve selflessly and work tirelessly to ensure the NPP secures victory in the upcoming general elections, delivering policies that will continuously improve the livelihoods of the Ghanaian people,” Bempah said.
