NHIA DCEO commends Mahama’s intended honour for 48 Engineers Regiment

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his intended decision to honour the 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces.

President Mahama has indicated that he has instructed that the Regiment be considered for the Order of the Companion of the Volta at the next National Honours.

The proposed honour is in recognition of the Regiment’s contribution to works on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway.

In a statement on September 15, 2026, Seidu Bogobiri described the intended recognition as a commendable and motivating gesture, saying it would demonstrate that dedication, technical excellence and selfless service to the nation are valued.

She said such recognition, when conferred, could inspire public servants across various sectors to give their best in the service of Ghana.

According to her, the proposed honour would also set a positive precedent by showing that hard work, professionalism and commitment to national development can be acknowledged at the highest level.

“I thank the President for this forward-looking decision and for his commitment to celebrating excellence in public service,” she said.

The 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces has been involved in engineering and infrastructure-related works, including its contribution to the Accra-Kumasi Expressway project.

Seidu Bogobiri said the proposed national honour would serve not only as recognition of the Regiment’s contribution but also as encouragement to other public servants to continue serving the country with dedication and professionalism.
