GIFEC CEO calls for peace and unity ahead of NDC constituency elections in Nanung

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), Tanko Rashid-Computer, has called for peace, unity and mutual respect ahead of the upcoming NDC internal constituency elections in Nanung.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Rashid-Computer, who is also the NDC National Deputy Director of Elections and IT, urged all participants to conduct their campaigns peacefully and refrain from personal attacks.

“Elections are about choosing leaders, but our unity as one people must remain stronger than our differences,” he said.

He encouraged all contenders to campaign with decorum and avoid insults, inflammatory rhetoric and personal attacks.

“Let us campaign with dignity, avoid insults and personal attacks, and respect one another’s opinions and choices,” he said.

The GIFEC CEO stressed that the outcome of the elections should not undermine the unity of the people of Nanung.

“No matter the outcome, Nanung remains our home, and we remain one people with one future,” he said.

He also urged all contestants and their supporters to accept the results and work together for the continued progress and development of their communities.

“Let us compete peacefully, accept the results, and work together for the continued progress and development of our communities,” he said.

The NDC National Deputy Director of Elections expressed optimism that the elections would be conducted in a manner that earns the confidence of all stakeholders.

“May these internal elections be free, fair, peaceful, transparent, and credible,” he said.
