Armah-Kofi Buah assures Ankobra residents of timely sea defence project

The Member of Parliament for the Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has inspected the ongoing sea defence project at Ankobra in the constituency.

The visit formed part of efforts to assess the progress of work and ensure that the project is executed to specification to protect lives, property and livelihoods along the coast.

Armah-Kofi Buah, who interacted with engineers of Messrs MPH Construction Limited and community leaders at the site, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work executed so far.

He also appealed to residents to continue to support the contractor to ensure the timely completion of the project.

Armah-Kofi Buah reaffirmed his commitment to engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure the project is completed on schedule and provide lasting relief to residents who have suffered from tidal waves and coastal erosion for years.

The chiefs and people of Ankobra expressed appreciation to the MP for facilitating the project.

They said they were hopeful that upon completion, the sea defence wall would protect their homes, safeguard their fishing businesses and pave the way for further development.

The contractor, on his part, assured the MP of quality work and timely completion of the project.
