Kate Gyamfuah is the National Women Organiser for the New Patriotic Party
National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfuah, has urged delegates to vote against former government appointees seeking national executive positions in the party.
According to her, appointees who served under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo were “wicked” and “selfish” and should not be given positions in the party’s national leadership.
“I am urging delegates of the NPP to desist from voting for anyone who served as an appointee under the previous government. They were selfish and wicked while in power, and so choosing them as leaders will have an adverse effect on the political party. They will worry our fortunes in the upcoming elections.
“Don’t be fooled by what they give you now because they failed to open their doors for you when they were in power,” she said.
Gyamfuah also said she had urged Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to reconsider her decision to contest the position of General Secretary.
She said she told Owusu-Ekuful that some members of the party did not like her and that she did not have a good reputation within the party.
