The Western North Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Spanclean Ofori Armah, has reportedly died after walking to the Bibiani Government Hospital for medical attention on Friday night, October 9, 2026.
According to sources, the educationist and media personality died at about 45 years old, although the circumstances surrounding his death and the cause have not yet been officially established.
His reported demise has thrown the education community, the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the local media fraternity into mourning, with colleagues and associates remembering him for his humility, intelligence and dedication to duty.
Before the creation of the Western North Region, Ofori Armah served as the PRO of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Education Directorate. He was subsequently promoted to the regional level, where he continued to serve as the GES Regional PRO.
In the role, he was responsible for communicating educational policies, programmes and developments to the public while maintaining relations between the Education Service, the media and other stakeholders.
His years of service earned him recognition among colleagues and education stakeholders, particularly for his commitment to public education and effective communication.
Beyond his work with the GES, Ofori Armah was a devoted member of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church and actively participated in religious activities.
He also hosted an SDA religious programme on Adehyie FM in Bibiani, using the platform to share Christian teachings and promote religious values among listeners.
His death is therefore a loss to both the education sector and the religious and media communities in which he was actively involved.
Ofori Armah is survived by four children and other family members.
As news of his reported death spreads, tributes are expected from colleagues, friends, church members and other people who knew him through his professional and religious engagements.
