NAGRAT alleges victimisation of 38 Obuasi SHTS teachers
The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has alleged that 38 teachers at Obuasi Senior High Technical School were targeted for transfer after speaking out about sexual misconduct allegations against headmaster Zakaria Abdulai.
NAGRAT President Jacob Anaba said the teachers were directed to leave the school in September 2026, with the instruction reportedly communicated through the assistant headmaster on behalf of the District Director.
“The Assistant Headmaster was asked to tell 38 teachers to transfer because they were being vocal,” he said on Citi Prime News on Tuesday, October 20.
Anaba said no reasons were given for the proposed transfers, although some of the affected teachers had publicly raised concerns about the handling of the allegations.
He also questioned how a committee reportedly chaired by the District Director exonerated the headmaster, given claims that students and parents had raised complaints before the matter became public in August 2026.
