The Newly elected Atwima Kwanwoma NDC Constituency Chairman, Solomon Reuben Jabari has pledged to unite party members and bring defeated aspirants on board, while warning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prepare for a strong challenge in the constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Jabari, a retired captain of the Ghana Armed Forces, said the newly elected executives would work together to strengthen grassroots support and improve the NDC’s chances of winning the parliamentary seat.

He attributed his confidence partly to the team’s youthful composition and promised to engage party elders, religious leaders and other stakeholders to promote reconciliation.

“We are all winners because we belong to one umbrella, which is the NDC. The contest is over, and we will put the past behind us and move forward.”

Jabari won Saturday’s constituency elections at Twedie Technical Institute, polling 1,319 votes against 263 for incumbent chairman Simon Alonga.

He also apologised to the Electoral Commission (EC) for earlier accusing its officials of working for their “paymasters”.

He said the remark was made in the heat of the contest and commended the EC and the Ghana Police Service for helping to ensure a peaceful election.

The chairman-elect identified road conditions as a key development concern, appealing to President John Dramani Mahama to address what he estimated to be 40 per cent of the constituency’s roads.

He said improved roads would benefit residents and support the party’s efforts to win the parliamentary seat.

Other winners include Lawrence Obiri Yeboah who won the vice-chairmanship with 1,081 votes, while Lukman Mumuni retained the constituency secretary position. Appiah Augustine was elected deputy secretary with 1,176 votes, and Appiah Isaac won deputy organiser with 916 votes.

Daniel Basepwah won the treasurer position with 974 votes, while Desmond Aziwini secured deputy treasurer with 1,276. Frank Kwame Agyekum was elected communications officer with 1,100 votes, and Blessing Nti Fordjour won deputy communications officer with 1,030.

Osman Mohamed won the Zongo caucus position with 961 votes. Isaac Painstil and Rosemary Adjei were elected youth organiser and deputy youth organiser, respectively. Barikisu Musah won women’s organiser, while Ellen Owusu secured deputy women’s organiser.

Eight additional executive positions went to Rita Prempeh, Asamoah Emmanuel, Matthew Mensah, Osei Bonsu, Adwoa Konadu, Monica Tosu, Edawanim Justice Osei and Matilda Kandibiga.

Jabari thanked members who took part in the elections and urged them to support the new leadership as it works toward a united NDC ahead of 2028.
