DE Youngsters International School has donated assorted items to Dzorwulu Special School
DE Youngsters International School in Accra has donated assorted items to Dzorwulu Special School, which has about 227 students, on October 26, 2026.
The items included bags of rice, bags of maize, gallons of cooking oil, toiletries, bags of gari and wheat flour, among others.
Making the presentation, Headteacher of the Kotobabi Compound branch of DE Youngsters International School, Frank Akabua, who led the delegation, said the founder of the school, Noble Anthony Kwame de Youngster, had always supported people with disabilities who, through no fault of their own, were born with such conditions.
He said that although the founder passed away about two years ago, the school was committed to continuing the good work he started.
The donation was made on behalf of all five branches of DE Youngsters International School: Kotobabi, Kokomlemle, Kokomlemle Annex, Ring Road Central and Adenta.
The donation was deliberately organised on October 26, to mark what would have been the birthday of the school’s late founder.
“It has always been the desire of the owner of DE Youngsters International School to meet the needs of those who require help. He is a philanthropist and a very kind-hearted man. It has become a culture for us to mobilise resources every year, both from the learners and the school, to purchase items needed by various institutions, which we then donate,” Frank Akabua said.
Frank Akabua further noted, “We are here to present these items to you so you can share with these young men and women who per no fault of their own, are disadvantaged, they are not like us so that they can also share and be happy.”
Frederick Tetteh, Head of Dzorwulu Special School, expressed appreciation to DE Youngsters International School and its management for continuing the vision of the late founder.
He presented an appreciation letter to Frank Akabua, who led the delegation, in recognition of the school’s continued support over the years.
“I would like to use this opportunity to express my heartfelt appreciation to the management of De Youngster International School, the staff and learners for this show of love. And I know that though our daddy is not alive, you will continue this good work,” Frederick Tetteh noted.
The Head of Dzorwulu Special School further called on institutions, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), individuals and other well-meaning groups to donate to the school to complement the government’s efforts in meeting the needs of the children.
