The Upper East Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has launched her re-election campaign by extending support to 200 widows in the Tempane District.

Madam Abagnamah, who is seeking a second term as Regional Women Organizer, presented each of the widows with half a piece of cloth and financial assistance as part of activities marking the launch of her campaign.

She said beginning her campaign with the widows demonstrated her commitment to women and communities across the Upper East Region.

According to her, the gesture forms part of her continued support for women across all 15 constituencies in the region.

In a message announcing the campaign launch, Madam Abagnamah said she chose to begin her political journey with women whose strength and resilience continue to sustain their communities.

She noted that her main request from the beneficiaries was their prayers as she seeks another mandate to lead the party's women's wing in the region.

“I want to ask for one thing in return: their prayers,” she said, explaining that she wanted to begin the second phase of her political journey with the blessings of women who understand the meaning of strength and resilience.

Madam Abagnamah is campaigning under the slogan “Proof, Not Promises” as she seeks to retain her position as the NDC Upper East Regional Women Organizer.

The NDC regional executive elections are scheduled for November 14 and 15, 2026, across the country. Madam Abagnamah is number one on the ballot as she contests for re-election.
