The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to urgently complete the Bolgatanga-Bawku road project, expressing concern over the need for improved road infrastructure in the region.

Addressing a press conference held at the Kulaa Bridge at Yaragabisi in the Bolgatanga East Constituency on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the NPP Regional Communications Director, Dr Samuel Akonga, who led the party's communication team, appealed to the government to prioritize the completion of the road to ease transportation challenges and improve economic activities across the region.

Dr Akonga stressed the importance of the Bolgatanga-Bawku road to residents, traders, motorists, and other road users, noting that its completion would significantly improve movement and connectivity within the Upper East Region.

The party is therefore urging the government to demonstrate its commitment to infrastructure development by ensuring that work on the road is completed to provide relief to residents who depend on it for their daily activities.

The NPP says the completion of the road remains an important development priority for the people of the Upper East Region.
