The MP among other stakeholders
The Member of Parliament for Salaga South, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has called on members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency to unite and work together following the just-ended constituency elections.
She made the appeal on Sunday, November 1, 2026, during a meeting with constituency executives and all aspirants who contested in the elections at the party's office.
The meeting provided a platform for open discussions, reflection and reconciliation, allowing the aspirants to share their experiences, concerns and perspectives in a bid to strengthen party unity.
Zuwera urged the newly elected executives, led by Chairman Haruna Abdul Aziz, popularly known as Chairman Abotsi, to adopt an inclusive leadership approach by engaging unsuccessful aspirants and tapping into their experience, talents and contributions for the development of the party.
She also encouraged those who were unsuccessful in the elections to demonstrate sportsmanship by putting aside their individual ambitions and making themselves available to serve the party.
The MP stressed that unity and collective commitment were essential to maintaining the NDC's political dominance in the constituency.
She stated that her vision was to keep the Salaga South parliamentary seat under the NDC, adding that this could only be achieved if members prioritised the interests of the party over personal ambitions.
Zuwera expressed gratitude to all the aspirants and party members for honouring her invitation and demonstrating their willingness to reconcile and work together.
Following the meeting, the MP joined the constituency executives on funeral visits to Abelekura and Salaga, where they sympathised with bereaved families and offered their condolences.
She reaffirmed the need for unity, reconciliation and collective responsibility as the party prepares for future political engagements.
