Nana Owusuaa Akoto III, Queen mother of Akyem Aboabo, has installed Mr Oti Peprah, an employee at the Controller and Accountant’s General Department as chief of the town .

Akyem Aboabo, a farming community near Akyem Oda falls under the Kotoku Traditional Area of the Central Region.

On February 17, Abusuapanin Kwabena Nketea, a family leader of the town in consultation with the kingmakers installed one Mr Kojo Yeboah as chief, under the stool name Nana Ampomah Kubra III to succeed the late Ampomah Kubra II who died in 2008.

This created confusion in the family, the community and the Akyem Oda Kotoku Traditional Council.

The installation of Mr Peprah now known as Nana Oti Peprah Ankomah III, means that Akyem Aboabo have two chiefs all claiming to be the legitimate traditional leaders of the town.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, a family stool elder, Opanin Kwame Yampson explained that the Queen mother is a member of the kingmakers of Akyem Aboabo and could therefore install a chief for Akyem Aboabo.**
