Master Andrew Adansi Bonnah, 11-year-old initiator of the Save Somali Children From Hunger Project, has joined Ghanaians to mourn late President John Evans Atta Mills, who died on Tuesday, 24 July, at the 37th Military Hospital in Accra.
He laid flowers at the forecourt of the banquet hall, State House, signed the book of condolence and lighted a special candle as a sign of the “Path” late President Mills took when he was alive.
A statement signed by Mr. Kobla Asamani, Technical Advisor to the Project, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, said the gesture was on behalf of Ghanaian children in honour of the late President Mills.
It said Master Bonnah, currently embarking on a national exercise to collect 100,000 pints of blood nationwide for the blood banks at hospitals, had called off the programme until after the burial and funeral of the late President.
Master Bonnah who is also a goodwill ambassador for Girl Child Soldier Eradication in Africa, said: “The children of Ghana and African will miss late President Mills a lot since he is worth emulating for his qualities", and asked Ghanaian children in particular to imitate the late President for his good qualities.**
