We will impose curfew on Bawku if …

Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Abdulai Musah, says authorities would be forced to impose a dust-to-dawn curfew on the Bawku community and its environs, if miscreants hiding in the area do not disengage from gun-related violence.

Mr. Musah in an interview with Citi FM in Accra said “the caveat here is that all these criminal activities happen in the evening and if it continues for long, then we as security agencies will have no option than to impose a curfew on the area.”

The MCE, on that score, appealed to residents of the area to volunteer information to security agencies to enable them clampdown on the activities of hoodlums who are seeking to destabilize the community.

“Let’s all cooperate and live together as one people; what we need from them is information and we are assuring them that their identities will not be disclosed to anybody, you are assured of security and everything,” he passionately appealed.

Recent chieftaincy dispute between the Mamprusis and the Kusasis ethnic groups in the community has so far resulted to the death of one person, with several others injured.
