MP commands staff of Gwollu Hospital

Amidu Amin Sulemani the MP for the Sissala West Constituency has applauded staff of Gwollu hospital for their selfless efforts under strenuous conditions to ensure health care delivery.

“I urged you as staff of the hospital to keep up the good work in services to humanity” the MP said this when he called at the hospital over the week to interact with the staff as part of his working visit to his constituency.

Briefing the MP, Mr. Mamudu Robert Juah the Physician Assistant In charge enumerate the challenges of the Hospital as the lack of a Medical Doctor, theater equipment such as oxygen cylinders, anesthetic machines ,diathermy among many others.

Mr. Juah was added that the hospital lacked an ambulance which is a major setback in referral and emergency cases.

The MP was then conducted round the hospital to see at first hand the facilities and the working environment at the hospital.

Mr Sulemani acknowledged the challenge working without equipment and has given the assurance that; in collaboration with the District Assemble and other stakeholders in the health sector the concerns and challenges of the hospital will be given due attention to ensure the hospital befits its status for a district.

He added that frantic efforts are made to get financial clearances from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning to enable the district clear some medical equipment at the harbor.

As part of his contribution to the health needs of the people in his constituency the Mr Sulemani is registering about one thousand Orphans and Widow’s for the National Health Insurance Scheme for the year 2014 to enable them access health care at the hospital.
