Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan VI, Chief of Oyibi, has called on the people to demonstrate a high level of tolerance to ensure that there is always peace in the town.

He said as they were about to celebrate the “Kpledzoo” festival, there was the need for the people to champion the cause of unity, togetherness and peace, to ensure a successful celebration.

Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Oyibi in the Kpone Katamanso District on Thursday, in connection with this year’s celebration of the “Kpledzoo”” festival.

The “Kpledzoo” which is literally translated as hooting at hunger will begin with a walk from Oyibi to Nungua where the traditional food “”Kpoikpoi” will be sprinkled signifying the end of hunger.

He appealed to his people to desist from acts which might ruin the peace the community was enjoying.

Nii Borlabi Kukubi Okanshan said the traditional council was in the process of providing them with information communication technology (ICT) centre.

He urged them to take advantage of the facility when provided, to enable them to expand their businesses.

He appealed to the government and non-governmental organizations to come to the aid of the community by providing them with a hospital, market, vocational and technical schools.

Mr. Abednego Afotey Otu, Assemblyman for Oyibi, who is also the Chairman of Oyibi Area Council said with the inauguration of the Council, he and his team would work hard to ensure that more revenue was generated.
