Ghana Telecom University College rebrands

Ghana Telecom University College is now officially known as Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) and is committed to use its rebranded name, logo and core values to promote educational excellence in the sub-region.

“We are launching a new GTUC, that is a new name for the college, our new logo and our renewed cores values, Ghana Telecom University is now Ghana Technology University College,” Dr Osei Kwasi Darkwa, President of GTUC said.

The GTUC affiliated to both reputable local and international universities says it is committed to research, intellectual creativity and innovation, and is striving to become centre of technology education in Africa.

The new brand is embodied in a new logo and five core values covering excellence, student-centred, academic freedom, innovation and integrity.

Dr Darkwa, explained that the excellence meant precision in all what the college does, quality in programmes, which culminates into the attainment of high standards.

“Our passion to see our students flourish, teaching and learning and nurturing future leaders and professionals reaffirm student-centred as our core values,” he added.

He said the ability to express one’s self in an academic environment is a recipe for novelty and dignity, encouraging and nurturing varied thinking from students and lecturers is important for academic freedom.

For innovation, GTUC believes in a society that evolves, one that has the ability to create and discover opportunities for growth including seeking partnership that makes life better for students and staff.

The college says it believes in integrity which borders on honesty, accountability and ethics.

Dr Darkwa said the college would not relent in its efforts to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ghana and Africa.

“Apart from provision of trained human resources to support industry and business GTUC is currently embarking on a number of research endeavour, which we believe will translate into practical experiences for growth and development,” Dr Darkwa said.

He said the college is directed by its vision to put science and technology in the service of the people and the development of Ghana and Africa.

“GTUC will emerge as a sub-regional educational institution specialising in proving technology education to address challenges confronting the country and the sub region.

“With our drive to morph GTUC into a sub-regional centre of excellence calls for a change in the look and feel of the university college,” he added.
