Amansie West district assembly honours 17 staff

The Amansie West District Assembly has honoured 17 hard working staff and 5 working partners at this year’s staff durbar at Manso Nkwanta.

The awards came in different categories and the overall best staff went to Miss Charity Owusu, Principal Radio Operater. For her prize she received one table top fridge and a certificate of honour.

Other awards include, the longest serving senior staff to Mr. Peter Opoku a senior accountant, the best secretarial staff to Miss Osman Barichsu Abugbila, the best revenue generator went to Mr. Peter Sarpong, a high revenue inspector, the best casual staff to Miss Issah Rukaya and the best driver, which went to Mr. Alex Osei.

The District Police Commander, Supt Daniel Amoako was also honoured for his hard work and dedication to serve as his efforts helped in reducing crime rates in the district. He was giving a citation.

Additionally, some NGOs were also honoured for their humanitarian services in the district and were each given a citation. They were Milliniunm Villiages Project, Care International, Latter Day Saint, NADWOS Project.

Speaking at the function, the Amansie West District Chief Executive Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu, commended all the award winners for their hard work and dedication to duty and urged them to keep it up. He also thanked the partners for their support to the district.

He said the purpose for the function was to showcase the year’s activities through pictures and honour hard working staff.

The DCE indicated that the assembly alone cannot develop the district without the involvement and participation of other key stakeholders adding that the a assembly has have come this far due to the active support and contributions of many stakeholders most especially Nananom for which we are very appreciative and grateful.

He said the assembly has expanded its local revenue base on average by about 30 percent year by year. In 2015 the assembly estimated to collect 139,412.27 and as at 30 November 2015, actual collection stood at 1,222,236.08 representing 89.25 percent of the estimated figure.

On security he said the district is generally peaceful and calm noting that until recently, the district recorded a series of armed robbery attacks on daily basis. This has drastically reduced due to the efforts of the police and other security services.

The Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta Traditional Area, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah who chaired the function commended the district assembly for their developmental projects and appealed to assembly members to work hard to enable them get projects in their electoral areas
