The Ho Polytechnic has been accredited to run a Master of Technology (MTech) degree programme in Agricultural Engineering.

The institution, one of six polytechnics marked for conversion to technical universities in the country, is also in talks with the National Accreditation Board to run more graduate courses.

These were revealed by the polytechnic’s rector, Prof Emmanuel Kojo Sakyi, at its 16th congregation Saturday February 27, 2016, during which 888 students graduated in various degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

He said: "Currently, National Accreditation Board is still working with the Faculty of Engineering for us to be given the go-ahead to pursue another MTech Programme in Electrical and Refrigeration Engineering."

The move, he explained, was part of its drive to transform technical and vocational education to reflect modern trends and make graduates more capable of handling latter-day challenges with technical tasks.

"Career and technical workforce education have also been integrated into majority of our programmes," Prof Sakyi stated.
