Man Drowns in River Dosoe

Enchi (W/R), Oct. 30, GNA- A 40-year-old man known only as George K., on Tuesday drowned in river Dosoe at the outskirts of Yaakese, near Enchi in the Aowin-Suaman District.

The deceased, who sells chewing sticks, had gone to have his bath at the banks of the river when he slipped into it and was carried away by the swift currents.

Police Inspector G.N. K. Kumako of the Enchi police station told the Ghana News Agency at Enchi that some children who were at the scene raised an alarm when they realised that George K could not swim to safety.

He said volunteers who rushed to save him found him dead after searching for him for some time.
