Dr. Clement Apaak, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Builsa South in the Upper East Region, has called on the church to preach peace and leave in peaceful co-existence before, during and after the General Elections in December 7.

Dr. Apaak made the call recently during President Mahama’s “Accounting to the People” tour in the region.

He used the occasion to donate 200 pieces of plastic chairs to six churches at Fumibisi in the Builsa South constituency.

Some of the beneficiaries included, Assembly of God, Roman Catholic Church, Jesus Mission and Restoration Power Chapel.

The gesture, according to the NDC parliamentary nominee was to give back to society and as well contribute to the growth of the Churches in the area.

He also entreated the members to pray for Mother Ghana, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and himself.

Receiving the donations, Head Pastors of these Churches, separately thanked the NDC MP aspirant for the kind gesture and urged others to do same.

For instance in an interview with this reporter, Head Pastor of Assembly of God Church at Fumibisi , Daniel Ayarik was full of praise for Dr. Apaak.

Describing him as an honest man, he recounted how he similarly helped the church in the past with cash donation.

For his part, Pastor of Jesus Mission Church , Peter Achack also in an interview commended Dr. Apaak for remembering the Church.

Dr. Apaak who is also a presidential staffer and head of the Citizens Complaint Centre (CCC), has been tipped by many political pundits to win the Builsa South seat.

During the tour with President Mahama to Fumbisi Senior High School, Dr. Apaak also received applause from the school authorities over his role in the rapid development of the school in terms of infrastructure.

According to the headmaster of the school, Francis Adajagsa through the instrumentality of Dr. Apaak, the school had received its fair share of projects, which has led to increment of enrolment of the school.

“I’m happy to inform you that the school has received its fair share of projects which with the help of our son, Dr. Clement Apaak, has increased access to secondary education in the last two years. And we have witnessed massive infrastructural development in that area”, the headmaster said.

It is on record that, Dr. Apaak has done a lot to revive the fortunes of the NDC in Builsa South.

These include the renting and painting of an office for the party in Fumibisi, and furnished it with laptop computers.

He also paid the rent for the only ICT centre for the youth in the area and stocked it with sixteen (16) desktop computers and internet connectivity.
