Toase (Ash), Dec 8, GNA - The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Toase Secondary School has donated an 80-seater Mercedez Benz bus valued at over 270 million cedis to the school.

Nana J.B. Enning, Vice-Chairman of the Association, handed-over the keys of the bus to Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, Atwima District Director of Education and acting Headmaster of the school, at a send-off party organised for Nana Adom Frempong, the Headmaster who is going on retirement.

The PTA also donated 20 million cedis to the headmaster for his 17 years dedicated service to the school.

The dignitaries and the numerous invited guests were held spell bound when the in-laws and children of Nana Adom Frempong presented him with a new VW Jetta saloon car.

The teaching staff of the school and the accounts section also donated five million cedis each while Atwima District Assembly donated one million cedis.

Mr Obeng-Darko commended Nana Frempong for raising the image and status of the school to one of the best second cycle institutions in the country and called on his successor and other headmasters to emulate him.

Mr Charles Yeboah, Atwima District Chief Executive, gave the assurance that the assembly will collaborate with the school's PTA to complete the new two-storey dormitory block and name it after Nana Frempong.

Mr James Adusei Sarkodie, Member of Parliament for Atwima-Nwabiagya, said people should have confidence in teachers and to give them respect to encourage them to offer quality education to their children.

Mr Anthony Osei Boakye, Deputy Managing Director of the Produce Buying Company (PBC) and member of the Board of Governors of the school, said the excellent achievement of Nana Frempong is a great challenge to his successor and assured the in-coming headmaster of the board's co-operation, encouragement and assistance to enable him continue the legacy of the outgoing headmaster.
