Ms. Felicia Sosu
Her commitment to helping the disadvantaged women and children in society to live a life of dignity as expected of every human being has reached a crescendo as her NGO celebrates its 10 years anniversary with a surprise.
For her, supporting the poor and the marginalized in the society to live a meaningful life is indeed a great honor worth dying for which she is highly determined to accomplish in life no matter the cost.
Ms. Felicia Sosu is a lady with a high repute, a gem whose passion and generosity to help others succeed in life has contributed to many deprived children and women already living a life of hope within various communities in the Ga East and La Nkwantang Municipalities of the Greater Accra Region.
She recalled the humble beginnings of her dream in 2004 with focus to reach out to the poor in society no matter the cost which she passionately embarked upon without the support from anybody.
Life was indeed difficult for her which compelled those who started with her to drop somewhere along the way with flimsy excuse that charity work has no financial benefit to offer.
In fact there were times; she had to dip her hand into her own coffers to pay school fees for some deprived children in the communities whose parents could not afford to provide for them.
For Felicia, The journey through the road of charity work hasn’t been an easy one for her at all as she had to sell her personal car at a point in time to be able raise funds to support her project works.
Such a noble dream was later transformed into formation of the Rural Project Support (RPSN), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) committed to ending poverty in Ghana through active support for disadvantaged women and children in the society. The idea was to position her in a proper way to mobilize enough funds and resources to support her God-given plan.
The happy-go-lucky benefactress shines as she received rapturous ovation from a large group of women who graced the 10th Anniversary Celebration of her NGO, the Rural Project Support Network (RPSN).
Such an ovation can only be said to be a testament of her hard won achievements, dedication and commitment over the years which has served as a relief to many women and children who has benefited in one way or the other through her unflinching support.
The colorful event which marked the 10th Anniversary celebration of RPSN took place at the forecourt of AWA office building at Abokoki, a small town in the Ga East district of the Greater Accra Region.
Also in attendance was MP for the area, Lawyer Adwoa Sarfo including some crème de la crème of the society.
Among the tall list of interventions organized by Felicia’s outfit to relieve the plights women and help create jobs for them in the society, was to initiate a training program which came in various capacities ranging from how to prepare detergents like liquid soaps , Dettol antiseptic, parazone and bathing gel. Others also benefited from handworks like bead making, sandals making, ice cream making, catering and preparation of local soft drinks (sobolo) among others. Some overly excited women who shared their experience in an interview said they’ve benefited tremendously under her support as a result can now boast of a trade which can help feed their families and themselves with ease.
Executive Director of Rural Project Support Network (RPSN), Ms. Felicia Sosu, who also doubles as the Founder of Dromo Women’s Group, an affiliate NGO can currently boast of owing 73 sub-groups made to her credit made up of both women and men within the Ga East and La Nkwantang Municipalities of the Greater Accra Region. These sub-groups run various activities on daily basis to augment the objectives of RPSN, the mother body to actively champion the course to end poverty in Ghana.
In her quest to end poverty at all cost, Ms. Felicia Sosu is equally committed to bringing life and hope to women through education by organizing adult literacy classes for women who didn’t go to school twice in every week. This, she hopes to augment to cover an even larger women within the two municipalities through the support of benevolent individuals and corporate organizations either through cash or kind.
She is therefore appealing to the Government, Churches, Donor Organizations, Philanthropists and well-wishers to quickly come to her aid and provide her with funds and all the necessary support needed towards successful execution of her noble agenda which she believes is borne out of divine calling.
