Jukwa (C/R), Dec. 30, GNA - The Denkyirahemaa, Nana Ama Ayensua Saara III, and a member of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), on Monday charged the youth to help rekindle communal spirit in their respective areas, to improve socio-economic conditions in the area. She also stressed the need for the youth to join in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS.

The Denkyirahemaa, who was speaking at the inauguration of the 'Denkyira-Jukwa Youngsters club' at Jukwa, near Cape Coast, also reiterated the importance of education to national development, and tasked all parents to take the education of their children seriously.

The Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District Chief Executive, Mr Andrew Mensah, who inaugurated the club, urged the youth to be abreast of national issues to enable them to contribute their quota to national development.

He asked members of the club to explain government policies to the people and educate them on the need to honour their tax obligations, especially payment of basic and property rates.

Mr Mensah appealed to them to establish community farms to raise funds to support the education of needy but brilliant children. Rev. Ben Donkor, Presiding Member of the Twifo-Heman-Lower-Denkyira District Assembly, announced that the district had been selected for the pilot project of the National Health Insurance Scheme, and urged the people to embrace it.
