Senya-Beraku (C/R), Jan. 4, GNA - Members of Senya-Beraku Secondary School Parent/Teacher Association are contributing 20,000 cedis each towards the construction of computer laboratory, estimated at 51 million cedis.

Mr Francis Ato Doughan, Chairman of the Association announced this at an emergency PTA executive meeting at Senya-Bereku last Friday. Mr Doughan listed bad road network linking Winneba and Senya-Beraku town, Gomoa Akotsi-Senya Beraku, lack of hostel facilities and irregular pipe-borne water supply as some of the serious problems facing the school.

He said the situation has compelled some parents to withdraw their children from the school and stressed the need for the Ministry of Education and the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly to help solve the problem as early as possible.

Mr Doughan expressed the hope that, as soon as the condition of the roads and water and hostel situation were addressed more students would be enrolled.

Madam Felicia Ghansah, Headmistress of the school reminded parents whose children are pursuing various programmes there of the need to pay the fees of their ward to ensure effective running of the school. In a message, Ms Ghansah advised students to be careful about their social activities, while on holidays in order not to contract the dreadful HIV/AIDS pandemic.
