Ejisu (Ash), Jan 16, GNA- Government has entered into a joint co-operation with Germany for the construction of a 400,000-Euros (four billion cedis) hospital at Ejisu in Ashanti.
A consultant from Germany would arrive in the country at the end of January to evaluate the present structures of the hospital to determine facilities to be provided.
Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the Ejisu-Juaben District Chief Executive, said this at Ejisu on Friday at a people's forum.
He was answering a question by Madam Martha Osei Dwamena, who complained about the problem posed to the people at Ejisu particularly in the night when they fall sick.
Madam Dwamena said the nearest hospital is at Juaben but the difficulty was getting a vehicle at night to Juaben.
Reacting to a suggestion by Mr Chris Omane, a teacher, that the assembly's tractor bought for the collection of garbage could not perform the function and should therefore be sold to purchase a bus to convey people from Ejisu to Kumasi, Mr Afrifa said the tractor was not bought for the removal of the type of garbage the questioner talked about.
He said the tractor was acquired to help clear refuse at the market and in the gutters and that the assembly would hire a bulldozer and tipper trucks to remove the heaps of refuse in the town. Mr Afrifa commended Nana Aboagye Agyei II, Ejisuhene, for using his own resources to remove a mountain of garbage in the town and gave the assurance that the rest would be removed soon.
The Reverend Asare Adjei wondered why the 'Hansard' was sold only in Accra thereby denying other people outside the nation's capital the opportunity to know what transpires in Parliament and asked that it should be sold nationwide.
He expressed regret that constituents in the district had very little knowledge about the Right to Information and the Domestic Violence bills that would soon be laid before Parliament.
