Saltpond (C/R), Jan. 16, GNA- The Mfantseman District Chief Executive, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur has urged Ghanaians to support various assemblies in revenue generation to enable the assemblies to provide developments for their areas.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur said the assemblies could not do much if revenue generation was seen as a sole responsibility of few revenue collectors employed by the assemblies.

He made the call when he inaugurated a rehabilitated 125 KVA generator at the Saltpond government Hospital.

The generator broke down five years ago and was rehabilitated by the district assembly at a cost of 30 million cedis.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur said it was a policy of the government to make workers feel happy and secured at work places.

Mr Peter Ebo Tawiah, Managing Director of Holiwatts Engineering, an Accra firm, which repaired the plant, expressed concern about poor culture of maintenance among Ghanaians, which he said, had contributed to the deterioration of official facilities.

He called for regular servicing of the generator to prolong its life span.

Dr Simpson Anim Boateng, Mfantseman district Director of Health Services, expressed gratitude to the DCE and the assembly for the prompt response to the appeal to have the facility repaired.
