Agona-Abrem (C/R) Jan 24, GNA- Nana Aborabora Katakyi II, Chief of Abrem Saasan in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem District on Friday said the nation's democracy has gone along way so people should do away with tribal politics.
He said people should do politics that would bring peace and unity as well as enhance the development of the nation and not allow political differences to divide them.
Nana Katakyi said this at a rally by the Convention People's Party (CPP) at Agona-Abrem to launch the all inclusive campaign of Paa Kwesi Nduom as the Member of Parliament for the KEEA.
He said the people of Agona-Abrem were not interested in party politics but were only looking for a committed and dedicated person to represent them at parliament.
The chief therefore appealed to all to rally behind Dr Nduom and vote massively for him in the forthcoming elections. Nana Katakyi urged members and supporters of the party in the constituency to register when the voter register was opened to enable them to exercise their franchise.
Dr Nduom, who is the Minister of Energy, said he was interested in a unified effort that would help in the development of the area and called on members to put political difference aside and work together to advance national interest.
He said he decided to embark on an all-inclusive campaign to attract voters from all political and social groups in the area who are interested in the development of the area.
" My message for you today is very short and simple, I am only soliciting for your votes to take me to parliament to enable me to continue with my development projects. I do not bear a grudge with anyone and that I am only interested in your welfare" he added.
Mr Francis Baidoo, second vice chairman of the CPP in the constituency said this year was for Dr Nduom and that all members and supporters should vote for him.
Solidarity messages from the NDC, NPP all wished Dr Nduom well in his desire to represent the area in parliament.
