Tuna (N/R), Jan. 26, GNA- Christians have been urged not to concentrate on only religious and spiritual deliverances but to venture into politics where they can educate the electorate against violence, character assassination and other acts that militate against the smooth progress of democracy.
Christians should also exhibit a high level of love and unity, which was exemplified by Jesus Christ who created the church in the world.
Rev. Francis Dramani, Elder of Tuna Evangelical Church of Ghana (ECG), made this call at the weekend when he inaugurated a 122.6 million cedis church building at Tuna in the Bole district. He commended both foreign and domestic churches, organisations and individuals who contributed immensely towards the project and hoped that it would help develop them spiritually.
Rev Pastor Philip Dakoriviena, Head Pastor of the church called on members to regard the building as a turning point in their attitudes towards society and make conscious efforts to use the church to unify the people and preach against bad habits such as drug abuse and immorality.
"The building alone does not bring any change unless our attitudes change positively towards nation building." Police Chief Inspector Sammy Adu-Akoh, cautioned the congregation against hiding behind the church to do evil things. He said the law would not tolerate illegal and abominable activities all in the name of worship.
