Cape Coast, Feb 9, GNA- Joseph Dugan, a 51- year-old seaman, who assaulted his rival, resulting in the loss of six of his (rival's) teeth, was on Monday granted eight million cedis bail with a surety, until February 20 by a circuit court at Cape Coast.

Dugan, alias Kofi Sam, pleaded guilty, but the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, deferred sentence to enable him pay part of the medical bills incurred by Mr Kofi Mbrah, his rival.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that Dugan, who resides at Tema, was once in relationship with one Stella Hagan, who is now married to Mr Mbrah.

He said on September 9 last year at about 7.30 pm, Dugan forced his way into the couple's room, and when Mr Mbra asked him of his mission, he became offended and picked a quarrel with him, and in the process, Dugan picked up a chair and hit Mr Mbra on the head. This resulted in the loss of six of his teeth, the prosecution said.
