Church of Christ assists school

Saltpond (C/R), Feb. 11, GNA - The Saltpond branch of the Church of Christ has donated a 200-litre capacity poly tank valued at 1.3 million cedis to the Saltpond Methodist High School.

The Reverend Sampson Eghan, Minister in charge, said the Church donated the tank to alleviate the water problem at the school. Saltpond and its environs faced perennial water problem during the dry season.

The Reverend Paa Solomon Grant-Essilfie, headmaster, thanked the Church for the gesture.

The headmaster appealed to religious bodies to do more social services to the needy in their communities since it was a Christian obligation to do so.

Rev. Grant-Essilfie appealed to donor agencies and philanthropists to help improve conditions in the school. The school established about 25 years ago was lack infrastructure. In 2003 the women's fellowship of the Church of Christ donated a similar poly tank to the children's ward of Saltpond Government Hospital.
