He said already the company had begun a programme, in which motorbikes were being sold to teachers on hire purchase to be paid for within a three-year period.

"The provision of roofing sheets, cement and other building materials can help them to put up their own houses," he added. Mr John N-yaaba, Upper West Regional Representative of the company said a total of 1,110 motorbikes had been sold on hire purchase to teachers in the three regions.

He said the Northern Region received 510 motorbikes, while Upper East and Upper West regions received 120 and 480 motorbikes respectively.

Mr N-yaaba gave the assurance that another consignment of 340 motorbikes would soon arrive to support more teachers to be mobile. He said the company was spending about 14.4 billion cedis on the 1,110 motor-bikes for the teachers and gave the assurance that the company would recover its money as their deductions were done by the Controller and Accountant General's Department.

Most beneficiary teachers who spoke to the GNA expressed their gratitude to the company for assisting them, as they could not do that on their own.
