Gwollu (UW), Feb. 22, GNA- The Gwollu Bone Setting Clinic in the Sissala District run by the Najiriwia Clan has appealed to the Government, NGOs and other benevolent organizations for wheel chairs and a Motor Cycle to enhance its work.
The clinic treats various degrees of fractures cases for patients from various parts of the country and neighbouring West African countries.
Making the appeal through Mr Abubakar Saddique Boniface, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, Mr Abudu Najiriwia, head of the clan said they are farmers, but runs the clinic as a humanitarian service.
The Deputy Minister visited the clinic after inspecting the Gwollu Slave Defence Wall and the tomb of Dr Hilla Limann on which restoration work is to start soon at a cost of one billion cedis.
Briefing Mr Boniface, Abudu said very often patients are brought to the clinic when they are at work on their farms.
He said as a result of lack of means of transport, patients sometimes are left in their agonizing state until such time that they return from their farms, to attend to them. He said people sent to them are often reluctant to ride bicycles for the long distance.
Mr Abudu told the Deputy Minister that the clan was members of the clan were capable of treating the patients the secret of which they inherited from their great-great grand fathers. He added that the healing process involve both spiritual and herbal medicine.
The Deputy Minister assured him that he would contact relevant organizations for support for the clinic.
