Land guard in the grips of the law

Accra, Feb 25, GNA- Francis Lissa also known as "Togbe," a land guard appeared before a circuit court in Accra accused of damaging properties worth Eight million cedis belonging to one Kojo Osei, a bar keeper. Lissa pleaded not guilty.

Presiding judge Mrs Elizabeth Ankumah granted him 20 million cedis with one surety.

He will reappear on March 10.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Kumah Mensah told the court that the complainant, Mr Osei has a land at Aplaku in Accra, which has been fenced at the cost of eight million cedis.

Inspector Mensah said the accused on January 1, this year, went to the site and destroyed part of the wall whilst the complainant and his workers were working on the site.

According to the prosecutor, the accused armed with a cutlass threatened to kill anyone who will work on the land and chased out the workers on the site.
