Koforidua, Mar. 16, GNA- The Eastern Regional Minister, Dr. Francis Osafo-Mensah and his Deputy, Mr Gustav Narh-Dometey, visited a number of registration centres to find out the progress of the exercise. At some of the registration centres visited in the New Juaben Municipality, it was discovered that a high number of voters had already registered with people waiting for their turns.

At the St. Peter's Anglican JSS Registration Centre, as at 1057 hours, 62 persons had registered while 71 people had registered at the Ahenbronu North Registration Centre and at the Eva Maria Registration Centre at Betom, 51 voters had been registered as at 0930 hours.

At Temporary Booth Community "D" Registration Centre at the Koforidua Zongo, 68 people registered in the morning.

At Salvation Army School Registration Centre, Dr Osafo-Mensah wanted to know if any alien had approached the centre to register but the registration assistant, Ms Comfort Asiedu replied that all the 67 voters who had registered claimed they were born at Asokore and come from the town.

She said all the party agents of both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stay in the area and know the people involved and none of them had raised any objection. At all the centres visited, only NPP and NDC party agents were present as observers.
