Kpatinga, Bimbila Alavanyo and Nkonya curfew hours renewed

The Ministry of Interior has renewed the curfew hours imposed on Kpatinga, Bimbila and Alavanyo-Nkonya respectively Friday April 13, this year.

A statement signed by Mr Ambrose Dery, the Minister for the Interior and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, said the curfew hours for the three towns have been renewed based on the advice of Northern and Volta Regional Security Councils and by Executive Instrument.

The statement said curfew for Kpatinga takes effect from 0000hours to 0400hours whereas those of Bimbilla, Alavanyo and Nkonya begin from 18000hours to 0600hours respectively.

Government expressed appreciation to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion leaders, Youth and people of the respective areas for their efforts in ensuring peace in the area.

The statement, however, urged all persons in Kpatinga, Bimbila, Alavanyo and Nkonya as well as their surrounding towns to exercise restraint in the face of their challenges confronting them and use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

The statement reiterated that there was a ban on all persons in the three towns as well as its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons, adding that, that any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.

The statement, however, urged all community members to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes.
