Member of Parliament (MP) for Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira Constituency in the Western Region, Catherine Abelema Afeku, has donated a fully air-conditioned 33-seater bus to the Nsien Senior High School (S.H.S) in the Nzema-East Municipality.

The donation by the MP, she said, was in fulfillment of a promise she made to the school during the 2016 election campaign.

"The gesture forms part of my promise towards quality education in the round-up to December 2016 general elections to provide buses for Senior High Schools in my Constituency and I'm happy my former school is the first school to get and I will make sure other schools get", she emphasized.

Catherine Abelema Afeku, who was an old student of the school, noted that the bus would serve as a means of transportation for the students as well as teachers.

The Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Minister hence pleaded with the school authorities to ensure a good maintenance culture for the bus to last longer.

"Through my lobbying skills, I have been able to lobby to get a new bus from the Ministry of Local Government and I therefore charge you to put this bus into a good use. I love Nsien S.H.S so much because it was this school that has made me a personality in this country so I will forever remember this school.”

The Lawmaker used the gathering to advise the students to take their education seriously and tasked them to desist from indulging in acts which would be inimical to their studies.

Using herself as an example, Madam Catherine Afeku, charged them to respect and be disciplined in all their endeavours.

Mrs. Afeku urged them to see her as their role model.

"Use me as your role model and learn hard because at our time, there was no electricity but we used lantern and candles to study each night but we passed well and here I am. So stop wasting your precious time on watching uneducated programs on televisions", she stressed.

She used the occasion to wish the final year students success and asked them to pray hard for President Akufo-Addo and the NPP government.

On his part, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Aboagye Mochiah thanked the MP for the support given to the school.

He assured the MP of taking proper care of the bus and ensure regular maintenance to last longer.

He praised the MP on the great works she has embarked upon and therefore appealed to the gathering to support the MP and rally behind her to maintain her seat in 2020 to ensure continuity of the works she has started.
