Fredrick Opare-Ansah,The MP for Suhum constituency and Chief Imams at the Ayekotse Zongo Mosque
The Member of Parliament for Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region, Fredrick Opare-Ansah, has urged Ghanaians to ignore the badmouthing against the Free SHS Policy by opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the Free SHS Policy is a long term plan which aims at bridging the poverty gap in the country.
“Before the Free SHS intervention, many brilliant but needy children were staying out of school due to financial challenges but the policy has eliminated that problem providing indiscriminate opportunity for all Ghanaian children”
Mr Opare-Ansah added that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government by President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is committed to delivering his campaign promises by the end of 2020.
He made this known when he donated some megaphones and amplifiers to the Chief Imams at the Ayekotse Zongo Central Mosque in Suhum.
Mr Opare-Ansah noted that “all teething challenges bedeviling the Free SHS Policy are being addressed hence, the introduction of Double Track System seeks to ameliorate the challenge of the congestion in the interim. Adding that, the Double Track System is a temporary measure and is expected to last between five and seven years.
He revealed that, 24,993 of this year’s BECE candidates will miss out on secondary education if the government, through the Ministry of Education, does not adopt an innovated way of accommodating all qualified candidates.
He also educated them on Planting for food and jobs, Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda, steps to revive the National Health Insurance and other initiatives of the government assuring the constituents his commitment to lobbying for developments in the constituency.
Mr Opare-Ansah later visited some local churches and made donations of hundreds of bags of cements, and packet of roofing sheets to support their uncompleted structures.
The religious leaders appealed for the construction of the deplorable road networks, lack of portable water, and social amenities in the constituency.
