GPRTU Effutu branch retains executive officers

All five Executive Officers of the Effutu Branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) have been retained to manage affairs of the Union for another four years.

They are; Neenyi Obosu II, Chairman, Mr. Kwame Gyasi, Vice Chairman, F.K. Anaafei Owusu, Secretary, Emmanuel Essilfie, First Trustee and Kiki Atta, second Trustee.

The election was conducted by officers of the Central Regional Directorate of the Department of Labour led by Mr Justice Opare, Regional Labour Officer. Alhaji Alex Mustafa, Central Regional GPRTU’s Industrial Relations Officer, who led officers to take the oath of office and secrecy, advised the executives to execute their duties in accordance with rules and regulations of the Union and the road traffic regulation to ensure sanity in the local Union. Alhaji Rahiyiano S. Artey, Regional GPRTU Chairman, commended the members for their comportment that ensured a successful congress and election.

He advised the retained executives not to lord their positions over the members, but rather continue to take their work seriously, demonstrate good faith and commitment to foster unity of purpose in the business to improve the livelihood of all its members.

He further urged them to periodically meet their members, and sensitise them to be law abiding on the roads to help prevent avoidable accidents. Nana Oboosu II, the retained Chairman who is also the Chief of Effutu Ateitu on behalf of the executives, thanked the members for the confidence reposed in them and assured them of their continuous commitment to better the lots of all its members.

He stated that their doors were opened and would receive fruitful ideas and suggestions from all to help to continue to run smooth and transparent administration in accordance with the oath they took.
