Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister has cautioned this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Region against examination malpractices.

A total of 37,785 candidates made up of 17, 807 females and 19, 978 males in the region are expected to sit for the one-week examination from tomorrow, June 10, 2019.

In a press release signed by Mr Foster Huno, Public Relations Officer of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, the Minister urged the candidates to pass well to enjoy government’s free Senior High School policy and not engage in acts that would cast slur on their image, their schools and the region.

He asked them to go all out and make the region proud with good grades. The Ghana News Agency gathered that some churches in the regional capital, Ho, are holding "special" prayer sessions for candidates ahead of the examinations.

A female candidate who sought anonymity said the prayer sessions prepared them psychologically for the examination.

Meanwhile, Mr Believe Agorha, Volta Regional Public Relations Officer, Ghana Education Service, told the Ghana News Agency that all was set for the examination.

He said the Regional Director of Education and the Regional Minister would tour a few examination centres to observe the exercise and encourage the candidates.
