DCE of Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzoh
Some angry polling station executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ellembelle Constituency of the Western Region, have dissociated themselves from a press conference organised by surrogates of the District Chief Executive, Kwasi Bonzoh.
A group calling itself concerned delegates of Ellembelle Constituency on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, organised a press conference at Esiama to accuse one of the candidates in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries, Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah of deceit.
According to them, Horma Akaisi Miezah, the current Western Regional Treasurer of the NPP, who is entering the race for the first time has been giving untruthful accounts regarding where she voted in past elections.
They claimed that the female aspirant has been voting at Madina in the the Greater Region since 2012 and therefore urged the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to disqualify her if possible.
“In the 2012 final voters register, the then Asante-Asare Anna Horma did not have her name in the voters register for the Ellembelle constituency. Her name, we rather found, at the Evangelistic Charismatic Ministry polling station in the Madina Constituency of the Greater Accra Region. We did same search in the 2016 final voters register and we also discovered that she registered and voted at the Madina constituency”, they claimed.
But in a statement issued and signed by some angry polling station executives, copied to the media, they said the concerned delegates of the party who organised the said press conference were not delegates of the party but mere supporters of the Ellembelle DCE.
"Our attention has been drawn to a press conference purported to have been organized by a group of persons claiming to be delegates in the Ellembelle Constituency headlined "concern delegates of Ellembelle" to declare their support for the DCE, Kwasi Bonzo, who is also a parliamentary aspirant for the NPP in the Constituency", the statement read.
The statement emphasized that "We would like to place on record that no such press conference was organized by delegates in the constituency. It is also worth noting that the young man who addressed the press conference is a campaign manager for Ellembelle DCE, Kwasi Bonzo. Mr. Stephen Yaw a.k.a Siasia is not a polling station executive member and cannot hold a press conference on our behalf".
The statement has therefore, disowned the leader of the Concerned Ellembelle NPP Delegates who is also a Campaign Manager for Ellembelle DCE, Mr. Stephen Yaw.
The statement disclosed that he is not a delegate from any of the 122 polling stations in the Constituency.
"He is neither a delegate nor party Executive member at any of the 122 polling stations and the 36 electoral areas in Ellembelle", the statement said.
The statement also stressed that, "We have not declared our support for any of the three aspirants in the impending parliamentary primaries in Ellembele".
The statement concluded that "Based on the foregoing, we condemn in no uncertain terms, the organizers of the said press conference and entreat all party sympathizers, polling station executives and the general public to disregard the said press conference".
The NPP is expected to hold its parliamentary primaries in all orphan Constituencies across the country on Saturday, September 28, 2019 of which Ellembelle Constituency is part.
The three aspirants contesting for the vacancy in Ellembelle Constituency are; Ellembelle DCE, Hon. Kwasi Bonzoh, NPP Western Regional Treasurer, Anna Akaisi Hormah Miezah and Isaac Menlah.

ELLEMBELLE POLLING STATION EXECUTIVES DISSOCIATE THEMSELVES FROM SUPPOSED PRESS CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY SURROGATES OF HON. KWASI BONZOH
Our attention has been drawn to a press conference purported to have been organized by a group of persons claiming to be delegates in the Ellembelle Constituency headlined "concern delegates of Ellembelle" to declare their support for the DCE, Kwasi Bonzo, who is also a parliamentary aspirant for the NPP in the Constituency.
We would like to place on record that no such press conference was organized by delegates in the constituency. It is also worth noting that the young man who addressed the press conference is a campaign manager for Ellembelle Dce, Kwasi Bonzo, Mr. Stephen Yaw a.k.a Siasia is not a polling station executive member and cannot hold a press conference on our behalf.
We therefore distance ourselves from the supposed press conference purported to have been organized by Ellembelle polling station delegates who are also delegates in the impending parliamentary primaries in Ellembelle.
We therefore disown Mr. Stephen Yaw, A.K.A "Siasia", and state as follows:
1. He is neither a delegate nor party Executive member at any of the 122 polling stations and the 36 electoral areas in Ellembele
2. We have not authorized him to organize and address any press conference on our behalf.
3. We have not declared our support for any of the three aspirants in the impending parliamentary primaries in Ellembele.
Based on the foregoing, we condemn in no uncertain terms, the organizers of the said press conference and entreat all party sympathizers, polling station executives and the general public to disregard the said press conference.
