Awutu Bawjiase (C/R), May 28, GNA - The acting District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya Lt. Daniel Osardu (Rtd) has cautioned the country's youth against the bitter and unpleasant consequences they are bound to grapple with, if they persist in maintaining their inordinate moral behaviour.

Lt. Osardu said indiscipline has engulfed the nation, virtually making the country ungovernable.

The acting DCE, who is also the Chief Patron of Awutu Youth Club, was addressing members of the club at their first post-inauguration meeting at Awutu Bawjiase on Thursday.

The meeting was called to formulate strategies aimed at making the members aware of their civic and constitutional responsibilities to accelerate development of the Bawjiase town and surrounding villages. He charged leaders of various youth clubs in the country to intensify the sensitisation programmes on AIDS to enable them to make choices beneficial to making a disciplined and progressive society. Youth clubs, he said could also embark on an exchange programmes to share cultural and other ideas that would enhance the well-being of the younger generations as well children yet unborn.

He stressed the need for chiefs and traditional councils to play their required role in the training of the youth, saying that failure to properly nurture the youth would make the country's future extremely bleak.

Lt. Osardu called on youth organisations to join the national crusade against filth in the cities and urban towns, adding that any attempt to joke with the current raining season might plunge many communities in the country into the gripes of cholera and other communicable diseases.
