The Somanya District Police Command has arrested one person in connection with the ransacking of the office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Yilo Krobo Constituency.
Officers charged to hold balloting for three candidates ahead of the party’s parliamentary primary in the Constituency were shocked on Saturday morning to see the sliding door of the office vandalized.
The computer, as well as documents to be used for the exercise were missing.
The party had to postpone the balloting after reporting the crime to the Somanya District Police, whose swift investigations led to the arrest.
The suspect is currently in police custody at the Akuse Divisional Command.
He is expected to assist the police with investigation.
His name has been withheld.
The police have assured that they will get to the bottom of the case.
