Taking effect Wednesday, January 22, 2020, residents are still to comport themselves and desist from carrying ammunition or any offensive weapon on them.

Persons who flout the law will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

In a press statement sighted by www.ghanaweb.com, the minister said "government continues to urge chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area".

Government over the years imposed a curfew on Bole and its surroundings in the Northern Region following an outbreak of violence in the town arising from a chieftaincy dispute.

The chieftaincy dispute led to the death of two persons with several others injured from gun wounds.

The fight was between supporters of two individuals of the same royal family who have laid competing claims over the Bole skin.
