Massive boost for Alhaji Habib Iddrisu as he chases NPP Tolon seat

Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, a Parliamentary aspirant for the Tolon constituency of the Northern Region has received a massive boost from constituency and polling station executives, ward coordinators and party elders in his bid.

As a result, he has challenged constituents to deny him a second term if he fails to live up to his campaign promises as their lawmaker if he wins the 2020 polls.

He disclosed to them that he is more than committed to achieve the needed results through capacity building and initiation of various pro-poor schemes to ameliorate their plight as their son and brother.

The aspirant who is the Deputy Head of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) in charge of Tema and its enclaves is the first to have picked and filed his nomination forms in the Northern Region and promised a wind of change for the people of the area.

“I am determined to do all that I have discussed with you. I challenge you to vote against my second term bid if I fail to deliver on my mandate during the first term”, he disclosed to a cheering members and executives of the party.

Earlier, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Tolon Traditional Area Retired Major Sulemana Abubakari to seek his blessings before filing his nomination papers.

The Chief wished him well and expressed hope that in the future he would become the lawmaker representing the people of the area and champion their interest.

Meanwhile, he has pledged to implement an educational fund to support needy but brilliant students in the area when given the nod to lead in the constituency.

Alhaji Habib who prior to this initiated self-help projects for women groups within the Tolon area, added that empowering the youth will be his main priority, and that includes creating an educational fund to cater for the needy students in the constituency.

“You will see a lot of students in this constituency hanging around, they cannot go to school, and I have made a point that if I am elected as parliamentary candidate and subsequent Member of Parliament for this constituency, I will launch an educational fun. This is going to be an educational fund that will cater for all needs of students in this constituency”, he assured.

About 378 polling station executives and 18 electoral area coordinators witnessed the submission of his nomination forms at the party constituency office on Friday 31st January 2020.
