The CEO of NTV has been given a special recognition for role in promoting culture and traditions of Dagbong by Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama II, following a courtesy call on him at his palace in Yendi.

Prince Siita Sofo Hissan’s enviable record as the first person to have set up a television network in the Dagbang Kingdom was to put to bare as the King adorned him with a special smock when he visited the Gbewaa palace with an entourage on Friday, May 8, 2020.

It is the second time the NTV boss is honoured by Dagbang traditional authorities after he was bestowed a chieftaincy title in 2019 as GUNTINGLI MALTI NAA by Naa Shaharu Kamaldeen, Chief of Guntingli, a suburb of Yendi.

The title was in honour of the CEO’s role in fostering unity and the promotion of socio – economic development of the Dagbang Kingdom with his North Television Network.

A colourful ceremony was staged as the Guntingli Naa gave the customary cola to Prince Siita before he was taking for an official introduction to the Yaa Naa who then was barely one year on the Yendi skin.

The CEO’s latest visit was to formally announce to the Gbewaa palace his outfit’s plans to commemorate this year’s Eidul Fitr with a virtual concert and to request that Yaa Naa Mahama II grace the event with a speech.

The Virtual concert will be used to sensitize the general public on the global COVID-19 pandemic and to highlight the need to follow recommended safety protocols to minimize the spread of the disease which has now infected more than 4000 people and claimed 22 lives in the country.
