Bernard Quayson, a spokesperson for the Etsifi Agona family of Adum-Banso, has extended words of appreciation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its show of concern following the death of Peter Kojo Appiah, NPP chairman for Mpohor constituency.
Speaking during a visit to the Agona Etsifi Abusuafie in Adum-Banso by John Sanie, NPP Mpohor MP aspirant, Bernard Quayson, said a higher percentage of the Agona family are supporters of NPP, and that it was noticeable the expression of concern in this time of bereavement.
"We are very grateful for this recognition by John Sanie, that Chairman Appiah was attached to the family's values, which made him serve the Npp well ", he added.
Mr. Quayson said the family will continue to collaborate with John Sanie, who has so far shown love and recognized how Chairman Appiah cherished his family and party alike, saying "it is with great respect and honour to have John Sanie commiserate with us today".
John Sanie, the NPP Mpohor MP aspirant, said he had earlier in the day visited Chairman Appiah's wife in Apowa, near Takoradi, and it was imperative to visit the Agona family in Adum-Banso.
He said even though death is inevitable for all, an earlier arrangement made with Chairman Appiah's family to send him to Korle-bu teaching hospital for further treatment was to ensure that he recuperates, but his untimely death curtailed that gesture.
"We are reminded that in all things we should give thanks to the Lord, and I assure you that I will work with the wife and family to give our Chairman a befitting burial", he concluded.
John Sanie later presented an undisclosed amount of money and drinks to the family to cap an evening of reminiscing the good works of Chairman Peter Kofi Appiah, who died on 25th May, 2020.
