Kofi Arkoe Nokoe
The Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency Parliamentary hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Kofi Arkoe Nokoe has been exposed by the Chiefs of Axim over his claims that he revived the Axim Kundum Celebration between 2014 and 2016.
Nana Kofi Bentil, Chief Fisherman of Lower Axim Traditional Area and former Secretary to the Axim Kundum Planning Committee disclosed in an exclusive interview with our lead researcher Sam Kofi Davids Sunday evening that he is not aware of his involvement in the affairs of the celebration.
He maintained that there has not been any collaboration or contribution from any individual or group holding themselves as pressure group when he was in charge of the Kundum Celebration during his tenure.
"So far as am concerned Axim Kundum has never collapsed neither has it been revived by any individual or group as being peddled by the NDC Parliamentary Candidate" Nana Bentil stressed.
The NDC's Parliamentary aspirant in a recent interview with an Accra based Power Fm told the public that through his efforts saw to the reviving of the Axim Kundum Celebration which had collapsed, a claim which has been rubbished by the Kundum Planning Committee of Axim.
Nana Kofi Bentil also expressed his dissatisfaction over the purported lies being spread by Mr Kofi Arkoe Nokoe for claiming to have revived the Axim Kundum Celebration and urged the public to disregard his claims as untrue.
"Nanamoo never partnered him in any of our Kundum Celebrations and whatever he claimed to have done were at the blind side of the then Planning which he supervised even though Nana Kaku Brulu (known as Jamkay) was the chairman but due to his numerous activities, I had to take up the mantle to run the affairs of the celebration"
Nana Bentil added "I handed over to the current Nkosuohene of Lower Axim Traditional Area Nana Osei Nkwantabisa in 2016 and since then he and his team are doing well.
We did our best during our time which led to the improvement of infrastructure at the Axim Girls Senior High School"
Let me reiterate that Mr. Kofi Arkoe Nokoe has never contributed or partnered the Planning Committee or Nanamoo in the affairs of the Axim Kundum Celebration and would advise that he desist from using the hardwon reputation of the chiefs to glorify his political endeavours.
